Eldridge, AL, July 2, 2009 – The Alabama Free Will Baptist Children’s Home Board of Directors announced the hiring of Mike Corley as Executive Director. He will guide, oversee, evaluate, and supervise the program of child care for the ministry. Further responsibilities will include direction of staff, facilities, and finances of the Home’s operation. He will assume his role on August 1st.
“We are thrilled to have a man the caliber of Mike as our Executive Director”, said Rodney Yerby, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Mike brings to our ministry valuable experience in administration and unquestioned credibility in service for the Lord and our denomination.”
Corley is a 1976 graduate of the University of Maryland and retired from the US Army after serving 21 years. He comes to the Home having ministered the last 10 years with his wife as missionaries with Free Will Baptist International Missions to the fields of Russia and Central Asia. He and Cathy have three children and eight grandchildren.
“I appreciate the trust the FWBCH Board has shown in me by giving me this opportunity” commented Corley. “I believe God is transferring me from one mission field to another – even though the needs and circumstances may be different. I look forward to working with the staff in accomplishing God’s work.”
